May 7th Silk Scarf Eco-dying Class w/Lindsay Best

Class will be held Sunday May 7th 11-2:30pm Light lunch and herbal lemonaid will be served.

ECO-DYEING IS A NATURAL DYE PROCESS
THAT USES WHOLE LEAVES AND FLOWERS
PRESSED DIRECTLY ONTO WOOL OR SILK
TO CREATE BEAUTIFUL AND COLORFUL
PLANT PRINTS.
FOR THIS WORKSHOP WE WILL BE USING
DIFFERENT LOCALLY GATHERED LEAVES
TO DYE A LARGE HEAVYWEIGHT SILK
CHARMEUSE SCARF. YOU WILL LEARN
HOW TO WORK WITH SILK AND WOOL TO
CREATE ONE OF A KIND HAND-DYED
TEXTILES. WE WILL ENJOY A LIGHT LUNCH
AND SOME WILD HARVESTED HERBAL
LEMONADE WHILE DISCUSSING DIFFERENT
LOCAL DYE MATERIALS, HOW TO GATHER
THEM, AND ETHICAL HARVESTING.
